A maximum of 0.1 IU/min has been recommended for post-cardiotomy shock In patients with fluid restriction, suggested final concentration of diluted solution is 1 IU/ml Use extreme caution to avoid extravasation because of risk of necrosis and gangrene Discard vial after 48 hours after first entry
