FIBROMYALGIA
Fibromyalgia is a long-term condition that causes widespread muscle pain. The cause is unknown, but the condition often develops during periods of stress. In addition to pain, other symptoms may include tiredness, headache, difficulty sleeping, diarrhea, constipation, difficulty concentrating, anxiety, depression, and in women, painful periods.
Treatment is aimed at relieving symptoms. It includes medication, such as pain relievers, muscle relaxants, and antidepressants; psychological therapy; and relaxation techniques.
