Intravenous medication administration is giving medication directly into a patient's vein, it can be rapid injection for some drugs into the vein using a syringe or giving slowly over a specific amount of time using syringe pump, or giving the medication diluted in isotonic solutions using infusion pump. IV medications should not given through patients artery, it can be given through a central line.
