Indications
Kdiron is indicated for the prevention and treatment of iron deficiency anemia, which may result from inadequate diet, malabsorption, pregnancy (especially for women who have additional risk factors for iron
deficiency e.g., poor diet), menorrhagia and other causes of chronic blood loss (e.g., peptic ulcer, hemorrhoids, hookworms), after subtotal or total gastrectomy, rapid growth during childhood, and in the
management of low birth-weight infants such as premature babies, twins, and in infants delivered by cesarean section.

Constipation is particularly more pronounced in elderly and may occasionally lead to fecal impaction. Harmless dark green or black discoloration of the stool may be noticed while taking oral iron.
