📄 Dialysis water treatment unit components
When building a new dialysis water treatment unit two things should be in the mind:
Tape water specification
Amount of treated water required
In general the components may include:
Two stainless steel raw water pumps with timer: to feed the unit with tape water
Sediment Filter or sand Filter: to remove dust and sand
Carbon filter: to remove chlorine and chloramines
Softener: to remove calcium ions
Deionizer : to remove anions and cataions
RO or revers osmosis machine: to remove bacteria, endotoxins, ions and other elements by not less than 50% rejection fraction
Treated Water Storage Tank: for treated water
Two stainless steel water pumps with timer: to feed renal dialysis unit with treated water
UV lamp: to kill bacteria and endotoxins
Microbiological filter: to remove bacteria and endotoxins
In between there should be pressures gauges and ports for sampling
Treated water should be 24 hrs circulate from the tank to the dialysis unit and back to the tank to prevent bacterial growth and continually be sterilized by the UV
