Composition
0.6 g and 1.2 g Injection: Each vial contains 500 mg, 1 g amoxicillin as amoxicillin sodium respectively and 100 mg, 200 mg clavulanic acid as potassium clavulanate respectively.
Indications
Infections of: upper and lower respiratory tract, skin and soft tissue, genitourinary tract; osteomyelitis; septicemia; peritonitis; post-operative infections.
Surgical prophylaxis against infections.
Dosage and Administration
By intravenous injection or intermittentinfusion.
Adults and Children Over 12 Years
The usual dose: 1.2 g three times daily.
Severe infection: 1.2 g four times daily.
Maximum adult daily dosage is 7.2 g and
maximum single dose is 1.2 g.
Children Under 12 Years
3 months – 12 years: 30 mg/kg infusion three times daily, or four times daily in severe infections.
0-3 months: 30 mg/kg twice daily increasing to 30 mg/kg three times daily there after.
Dosage for Surgical Prophylaxis
Operation lasting for less than one hour: 1.2 g at induction of anesthesia. Longer Operations: subsequent doses of 1.2 g (up to four doses in 24 hours) for several days. For more information, see insert
