Composition


Each teaspoonful (5 ml) contains: Pheniramine maleate 15 mg.


Indications


Histol is used in hay fever; asthma; respi­ratory conditions associated with increased secretions; serum sickness; skin conditions e.g. eczema, itching, acute and chronic urticaria.


Precautions


Histol, as other antihistamines, may cause drowsiness; therefore, patients are advised not to drive motor vehicles or operate machinery. Patients should be warned that Histol syrup may enhance the sedative
effect of C.N.S. depressants including alcohol, barbiturates, hypnotics, narcotics, analgesics, sedatives, and tranquilizers.
Patients suffering from glaucoma should be kept under medical supervision when
using pheniramine maleate.


Dosage and Administration

  • Children over 10 years: 1-2 teaspoonfuls.
  • Children 6-10 years: 1 teaspoonful.
  • Children 1-6 years: ‘k. teaspoonful.
  • Dosage and Administration to be repeat­ed 2-3 times daily or as directed by the physician.
