Side Effects

Infrequently, some adverse reactions may occur with topical corticosteroids especially with the use of occlusive dressings. These include thinning of the skin which may be restored over a period of time after completing the treatment, striae, telangiectasia (dilation of the superficial blood vessels), contact dermatitis, mild depigmentation, or acne at the site of application. Very rarely, local hypersensitivity reactions
may occur.

Precautions

As with other preparations containing topical corticosteroids, Futasone cream should not be used on the face unless absolutely indicated.
Prolonged treatment with topical corticosteroids increases the possibility of systemic absorption especially when applied to extensive areas or under occlusive dressings, particularly in children.

Children: Futasone cream is contraindicated in infants under 1 year; in general, potent topical corticosteroids are belter to be avoided in pediatric treatment or. if necessary. used with great care for short periods.
