When building a new dialysis water treatment unit two things should be in the mind:Tape water specificationAmount of treated water requiredIn general the components may include:Two stainless steel raw water pumps with timer: to feed the unit with tape waterSediment Filter or sand Filter: to remove dust and sandCarbon filter: to remove chlorine and chloraminesSoftener: to remove calcium ionsDeionizer : to remove anions and cataionsRO or revers osmosis machine: to remove bacteria, endotoxins, ions and other elements by not less than 50% rejection fractionTreated Water Storage Tank: for treated waterTwo stainless steel water pumps with timer: to feed renal dialysis unit with treated waterUV lamp: to kill bacteria and endotoxins Microbiological filter: to remove bacteria and endotoxins
In between there should be pressures gauges and ports for sampling
Treated water should be 24 hrs circulate from the tank to the dialysis unit and back to the tank to prevent bacterial growth and continually be sterilized by the UV
